How did you first meet?
We actually met at school, I was 15 and Liam was 17, so we weren’t in the same year. At first, we didn’t really speak in person. It all started on Facebook. We messaged back and forth then slowly started chatting at school. After a few weeks of properly getting to know each other, things moved pretty quickly and we made it official.
How did you propose?
Liam really went all out with the proposal. He even got my parents involved, arranging for them to pick up my ring from a jeweller in Dubai while they were away over Christmas. Then, during a trip to the Dominican Republic in May, he surprised me with the proposal.
I thought we were heading to an Italian restaurant, but at the last minute he took me to the beach instead. Waiting there was a beautiful setup with candles, rose petals and a three-course dinner on the sand. He’d been planning it for months and even had to work around the weather. It was such an incredible surprise and he completely went above and beyond.
Where did you get married?
Fairyhill
What attracted you to the venue?
We actually originally went and booked Oldwalls because my family knew Nigel well and I’d been to Fairyhill quite a bit growing up, so I just assumed I’d go somewhere different.
Halfway through planning though I started to think to myself “Why didn’t I pick Fairyhill?” So I went back to view it again. Liam hadn’t even seen it at that point and as soon as he walked in, he said, “Why didn’t we come here first?”.
From that moment we knew Fairyhill was the venue for us!
What was your first dance song?
We chose Stargazing by Myles Smith. We started with the slower version, then about a minute in it switched to the upbeat version and everyone joined us on the dancefloor. It turned into such a fun moment and felt really special having everyone involved.
What made your wedding unique?
We packed so much into the day that there was always something happening. From a singer, champagne tower and magician to cocktail stations, an ice cream cart and a 360 photo booth, it felt like one big celebration from start to finish. Someone even said they’d never been to a wedding with so much going on in every corner.
One of the biggest surprises was for Liam, who’s a huge Michael Owen fan. I arranged a personalised video message from him for the speeches and, just when Liam thought everything was over, Michael Owen appeared on screen. The look on his face was priceless and it made for such a memorable moment.
What did you wear?
My jewellery came from a jewellers in Dubai called Cara’s which was the same place my engagement ring was from.
My dress was from Eva Ashley in Cardiff. I originally had long sleeves for the church ceremony then removed them in the evening so I could relax a bit more. I didn’t want a second dress because I loved mine so much.
And my shoes were Jimmy Choos… had to be done!
What advice do you have for others?
Book things early so you don’t have to compromise later. And on the day, just take it all in because it goes so fast. Even if it’s just for a minute, sit back and look around the room, everyone you love is there for you and that’s a really special feeling.
Any final words about your venue?
They were phenomenal, we honestly couldn’t fault anything.
Everything ran so smoothly and nothing was ever too much. They went above and beyond in ways we didn’t even expect, from drying my hair when it rained to saving canapés for us and even putting a pizza in the bridal suite for us to eat later that night.
The whole team made the day feel effortless. It was perfect from start to finish.
